2011 SHC Awards – Class of the Year

To celebrate the end of speedhillclimb.com’s first year of existance we have decided to look back on the year and recognise some of the stunning performances we have seen on the hills in 2011.

The prizes are purely bragging rights in the 2012 paddock, but nevertheless over the last few days of the year we will be announcing the 2012 speedhillclimb.com Awards!

The 2nd of our awards will be presented for the ‘Class of the Year’:

There have been many fun-filled and competitive championship classes during the year, at both National and Regional level.

Class 1b of the Midland Championship always features very close competition with 4-8 cars at the head of the class and positions decided by hundredths of a second. Also, there is an impressive amount of banter and comeradary to help pass the time int he paddock.

2011 has seen a min-resurgance in the popularity of the 2-litre Sports Libre class. At all events this class has featured a tremendous amount of variety from saloons to sports cars and hillclimb specials to circuit cars, all of these featuring a mix of car & bike engines.

But the award, thanks to an amazing level of driving commitment, technical development and stunning records, goes to the 1600cc Class of the British Hillclimb Championship.

Well done to all of you guys!

Check back tomorrow for award no.3.
