Hillclimb Timing

Time Keepers at Prescott Hillclimb

Times are taken to one hundredth of a second, using digital timing gear, generally provided by professional motorsport timing company. Timing ‘beams’, one at the startline and one at the finish, are used to measure only the time that the car is actually rolling. These beams are broken by a vertical strut (commonly called a ‘Burt Strut’ or a ‘beam breaker’) which must be fitted to each competing vehicle.

Start/Finish Line Timing Beam

Only the competitors fastest competitive time counts towards class or overall awards.
