Martin Groves

The hardest charger of them all. Martin Groves has dominated the British Hillclimb Championship since the middle of the noughties, with his all action, win or bust approach.

Breathtaking car control and total faith in himself and his car are hallmarks of Martin’s success.

Groves in the giant-killing Mallock at Prescott (thanks to Steve Wilkinson)

He started out in a clubman’s Mallock, often achieving impossible results, and has applied this driving style to everything he has driven since. Martin withdrew from top level hillclimbing at the end of 2010 with his 4th Championship and 103 runoff wins to his credit.
