August Shelsley Revisited

The ‘Big One’ at Shelsley Walsh featured one of the biggest record hauls of the year with 6 falling in the main championship classes and a couple in the classic & specialist classes as well.

Despite a pretty major oil spill early on in the weekend, 3 practices on Saturday helped the competitors get their eye in and the result was some amazing times. Just think how spectacular the times could be if drivers got a practice on Sunday morning as well…

We captured a number of the record runs on video, so here is a little overview of one of the most spectacular meetings of the year so far.

Class C3 – Roger Banks (4.2t Audi S4) 28.71s

Class F – Rob Stevens (1.3s Force SR4) 25.74s

Class H – Brodie Branch (0.6 Marengo 3) 28.33s

Class J2 – Lee Adams (1.6 GWR Raptor) 24.90s

Other maximum Leaders Championship points hauls went to John Chalmers (Ralt) and ‘wee-hairy’ Les Mutch (Dax Rush) whilst The Silver Flash (Dave Warburton), Martin Depper and Scott Moran all came close to matching their respective class targets. Well done to all of the Shelsley record breakers, heres to more in 2012!
