BHC Doune Results

Whilst Mr Editor was away in the rain and winds of Central France, the British Hillclimb Championship continued its relentless journey around the British Isles with one of the two annual visits to the King of Hills, at Doune close to the edge of the Trossachs in Scotland.

The Meadow at Doune was the scene of much action at the weekend.

 

Obviously we won’t have a full report from the event, but we have scraped together some gossip and news from the event to bring you up to speed with the results and goings-on!

- Trevor Willis really had the OMS 28 hooked up and took two dominant wins in the all important Top 12 Run Offs.

- History was made as Nicola Menzies qualified for the both Run Offs alongside her husband Wallace and her Brother George Coghill Jnr.

- Wallace Menzies spun out at East Brae in the opening Run Off.

- Nicola Menzies spun out at East Brae in the closing Run Off.

- The Moran’s withdrew from the event after the opening Run Off due to a clutch cylinder failure.

- Paul Haimes was forced to withdraw from the event after practice following a small bump in The Esses.

- The Moran’s absence enabled sportscar drivers John Mackenzie (Radical Clubsport) and ‘Wee Hairy’ Les Mutch (Dax Rush) to qualify for the second Run Off.
