Club Harewood Round-up

Whilst the British Hillclimb Championship chasers were over at Barbon Manor in Cumbria, several keen runners were taking part in the Harewood Hillclimb Championship round over in Yorkshire.

A much larger entry took part in this club level event than started the BHC round the following day, and this entry included a number of drivers getting practice in at Harewood ready for an assault on the Run Offs on the Sunday.

Former BHC Run Off winner Deryk Young, sharing as always with wife Sue, brought his big 4-litre Judd powered Gould up to Yorkshire and stormed to FTD by some distance.

Reigning Harewood FTD Champion and sometime British Sprint Run Off winner John Chacksfield pushed hard with his ex. Owen OMS-Vauxhall CF04 to claim second on the road and maintain his 2013 FTD title lead.

Sharing Ian Fidoe’s OMS-TKD CF09 whilst his own long-awaited Dallara-TKD is finished off, Tim Elmer took a hotly contested third overall but unfortunately appeared to have suffered a little engine damage along the way.

In the classes, Lotus Elise driver Ben Lovell took a dominant win in his class to lead the Harewood Hillclimb Championship, ahead of James Kerr who also took a class win with his 205 GTi.
