Forrestburn Hillclimb

Monklands Sporting Car Club’s venue at Forrestburn between Glasgow and Edinburgh ran two rounds of the Scottish Hillclimb Championship last weekend.

It sounds as though there were very varied weather conditions over the weekend. Saturday’s event was very nearly called off amidst downpours and standing water, whereas the second day of competition saw class records broken!

The conditions may have varied, but whatever the weather Fin Whyte was the man to beat. He took FTD on each day, ahead of Steve Marr and an inspired Craig Nicol on Saturday and Marr and George Coghill Jnr on the Sunday.

If you haven’t seen the twisty, undulating moorland hill then check out this youtube video of Lee Adams that we stumbled across:

  1. Class records were broken but only by a couple of fast men in the Libre classes LOL
It was still wet in places but the 4×4 Evo mini was at home in the slippy conditions and managed to make the top 9 times over the weekend without breaking anything except a record :)
