Jordan Storms to Title

Last Sunday saw a friend of the Speed Hillclimb world achieve a fantastic result at the very top of UK professional Motorsport.

Pirtek Honda driver Andrew Jordan claimed his first British Touring Car Championship title victory after a fantastic final round showdown at Brands Hatch circuit.

Jordan, who competed in British Rallycross as a teenager prior to switching the circuits full-time, has also been seen driving on the hills during 2013.

Back in May, Andrew took part in a group track test of hillclimb cars at Gurston Down Hillclimb as part of a feature for Go! Motorsport which was printed in Motorsport News magazine.

Andrew drove Mike Manning’s fearsome Ford Puma which was fairly familiar to him after his time driving Will Gollop’s Focus Rallycross car earlier in his career. Then he moved on to real culture shock as he tried single-seater cars for the very first time with runs first in Simon Fidoe’s Empire-Suzuki 002 and then James Blackmore’s OMS-Suzuki 25.

The BTCC star was a great test driver, showing respect for other people kit, but still trying enough to get a good idea of the potential of the cars.

Very well done on the BTCC title Andy, it is hugely deserved both by you and your family run team!
