Regular Westcountry hillclimber James Moore appeared at the Gurston Test Day with a new stead for the 2013 hillclimb season.

James Moore had a shakedown run at Gurston Test

Having been seen for several years in a Gulf-coloured OMS SC1 sports-racing car in the 2-litre Sports Libre classes, James has now moved on to a proper hillclimb single-seater.

At Gurston he was shaking down an OMS 2000M which he has acquired from Harewood competitor Graham Smith. The car has an 1100cc Kawasaki ZZR engine, and is the car which Smith finished 3rd overall in the 2012 Harewood FTD Championship behind the larger engined OMS’ of Steve Owen and John Chacksfield.

James’ previous OMS, the ex. Rob Stevens sportscar which now uses an 1137cc Honda Blackbird in place of the Suzuki engine that Stevens used, has now found a new home in the Midlands.

Having sold on his ex. Dave Kimberley/Eynon Price Force PC after a single season, Charles Williams has bought the sportscar.

Charles has already shaken the car down at Curborough, along with his new for 2013 co-driver Tim Cross who will be stepping up from sharing Ray Lohr’s Caterham and son Ben Cross’ Toyota Yaris in 2012. Tim says that the car is “very neutral and nimble on first acquaintance and makes a lovely noise when on full song”.

We are sure that Charles, Tim and James will all have a blast with their new steeds for the new year.
