Opening BHC Rounds This Weekend!

So, after a long winter break, a break which seems somewhat longer than usual due to the number of test days which were cancelled or moved, it is time to get back to British Hillclimb Championship action.

The 2013 British Hillclimb Championship kicks off at the Bugatti Owners Club’s Prescott Hillclimb nr. Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.

The historic Prescott Hill, which first held events back in the 1930s, is a great place to start the year and usually produces a massive entry list. This year however, there are a few gaps on the entry list as a few competitors are struggling to get their cars completed in time for the season start.

Noticable absentees from the BHC entry are Tom New, Paul Haimes, Tony Wiltshire, Mark & Andy Coley, Rob Turnbull and the Tomlins are all absent from the list and will be missed from the event. Also, from a Leaders perspective, the Warburton clan will not be making it to Gloucestershire either.

So, who will be there then? Well, 8 of the top 10 finishers from last year are entered (the aforementioned Tom New and the retired Lee Adams are absent).

Expect Trevor Willis, Scott Moran and Jos Goodyear to be fighting at the front from the beginning. The BHC is a series which rewards consistency so all of the serious bods will be looking to get two healthy scores on the board this weekend.

Also appearing at Prescott this weekend will be the Leaders Hillclimb Championship and the Midland Hillclimb Championship, as well as the Paul Matty Classic Lotus Championship.

It will be a fantastic event, and even the weather forecast is looking pretty good so far!

We will be tweeting from the paddock and trackside all weekend (signal permitting), so check the Twitter Feed (as well as the ever excellent regularly!
