Prescott Completes The Season

The final mainland hillclimb events of the 2012 season took place last weekend at the Bugatti Owners Club’s Prescott Hillclimb, near Cheltenham.

Themed weekends are becoming a popular part of the Prescott calendar these days and, hot on the heels of the Le Vie en Bleu weekend back in May, this is the American weekend.

As well as the usual hillclimb action there are cheerleaders, rock bands, cheerleaders and even a proper Motorcycle Wall of Death act to entertain the crowd.

The event on Saturday featured one-make classes from the Healey, Porsche & Scimitars.

Alastair Crawford splashed his ex. Baz Pitt Gould GR55C to FTD on 42.19s. Andy McBeath and Simon Fidoe (having a run out in Father Ian’s OMS-TKD) chased Crawford home to complete the podium.

Sunday was more classic themed, but also featured the Healey, Aston Martin, BMW, TVR, Morgan, TR & Paul Matty classes.

Veteran hillclimber and Prescott regular Geoff Hunt took a popular FTD with his lovely Lotus 22, a car that was built specifically for hillclimbing by the Lotus works in the early 60s.

  1. I can’t wait to have a go round the track in the VW. It will be a good day out with the car. I think I will need to get some new tires before hand. (Moderated).
