Richard Spedding set the pace at Harewood

Despite a few early season withdrawals due to cars not quite being ready, including the OMS of Steve & Lynne Owen (see separate story), a healthy entry took to the hill for this round of the Harewood Hillclimb Championship.

Top BHC contender Richard Spedding took control of the event from the get-go and stormed to FTD in his familiar dayglo orange Force PC.

Fellow local specialist, and our favourite for another Harewood FTD Championship this year, OMS-Vauxhall driver John Chacksfield claimed second overall despite a broken shaft spoiling one of his competition climbs.

Radical Prosport driver Sarah Holdsworth was third overall, ahead of the rapid 1100cc Jedi of Ed Carter.

Despite being pipped to the 2-litre road-going win by VW/Audi nutter Fred Currell (by 3/100ths of a second!), 205 GTi driver Jamie Kerr heads the Harewood Championship table.
