Sunday Castle Results

OMS driver Mike Lee once again proved that his faithful 2000M chassis is still a force to be reckoned with as he stormed to complete yet another double FTD at Camel Vale Motor Club’s Castle Hillclimb on Sunday.

With hill record holder Terry Graves again enjoying Bernie Ecclestone’s hospitality at the British GP, Lee saw of a stern challenge from David Sims who closed to within 0.08s by the end of the day. Andy Dinner was 3rd in his ex. Tom New Pilbeam MP82, within 0.5s of the outright pace.

Local driver Doug Bennett won the Sports Libre division in his brutal 600bhp super-charged Sylva Striker with a storming 24.86s run for this new car which is still being developed.

ASWMC Championship front-runner Martyn Pike took the expected 1800cc Mod Saloons win, but Gordy Eyles chased hard in his Steve Harris developed Vauxhall Corsa.

As usual at an event in Cornwall Roy Bray, who is undoubtedly Bissoe’s finest racing driver, took the unlimited Road Saloon victory in his Escort Cosworth. Bray finished just overĀ a second clear of championship sponsor Mike Potter in a class which also featured South West Toyota MR2 specialist Bob Hatton.
