The short, sharp Tregrehan Hillclimb in south Cornwall saw it’s 2nd event of the year this weekend. Run as always by Truro Motor Club (albeit without club treasurer Mike Tregoning who was hob-nobing at Shelsley) this event saw glorious summer sunshine, storming times and loads of runs.

Former Hillclimb Leaders Champion Mike Lee continued his amazing run of 2011 wins in the Westcountry with yet another FTD. This time though, the OMS 2000M driver managed to break the Outright Hill Record on 4 consecutive runs in an impressive display of consistant driving.

The same 1600cc class as Lee saw Ian Tucker’s carbon tubbed OMS just grabbing 2nd ahead of the lovely BDA-engined F2 Erlich of Cornish hillclimb stalwart Keith Richards.

Other notable class wins were recorded for Gary Pitt’s Escort Mk2, Andrew Williams’ Westfield, Martyn Pike’s Escort Mk1, Roy Bray’s familiar Cossy and former Longleat FTD winner Phil Montgomery-Smith who really put the cat amongst the pigeons by finishing runner up overall with his Fisher Fury.

Check out this video to see Lee’s FTD run.

Thanks to Mike Lee and www.sw-timekeeping.co.uk for the info.
