Shelsley Shunts

As I am sure everyone who is reading this is aware by now, as well as some cracking class action and a couple of very exciting Top 12 Run Offs, the big news at Shelsley Walsh over the weekend involved a couple of very big shunts involving two of the single-seater runners.

The two incidents, which occurred during the qualifying runs for the Run Offs, involved DJ Racecars drivers Wallace Menzies and Ash Mason.

Cross’ Curborough Cruise!

A couple of weeks ago one of the younger members of the hillclimb family had a baptism of fire as he took a single-seater for a spin for the first time.

Young Ben Cross might still be at school, but thanks to a very enthusiastic Father and some very generous family friends, he got to enjoy a very cool day at Curborough Sprint Track during a midweek test session.

Autosport Show… Big Pilbeam Update

One of the many hillclimb & Sprint visitors to the Goodridge stand at the Autosport International Show was top British Sprinter Mike Musson.

Towards the end of 2011, Mike acquired the hairiest car on the British Hillclimb scene with the intention of taming it in the wide open spaces of the race circuits of the UK.

Raptor Returns

One of the most exciting cars in British Hillclimbing has found a new home in the Midlands and will be running at Midland and selected British Hillclimb Championship rounds in 2013.

The original GWR Raptor chassis 001 was originally built for Scottish flyer Lee Adams and claimed the Scottish Hillclimb Championship in 2010.

Top Points for Thompson

Fired-up by his two Run Off appearances at Craigantlet in the British Hillclimb Championship last weekend, Graham Thompson charged to FTD at Garron Point Hillclimb this week.

The Mid Antrim Motor Club organised event produced a healthy 50 car entry and managed two practice and three timed runs at the challenging hill on the North East coast of Ireland.

Soaking Shelsley – The Classes

Whilst the big boys were attempting to qualify for the Top 12 Shootouts at The World Famous Shelsley Walsh, the class runners were chasing hard for Leaders and Midland championship points. Wet conditions can often throw up some surprise results and this weekend was no exception.
