Double Dry Doune!?

The penultimate round of the British Hillclimb Championship season took place at Doune in Scotland at the weekend and, after the record-breaking bonanza at the hill in June, miraculously this latest event was warm and sunny yet again!

As well as seeing a number of class records set over the weekend, we also crowned our 2014 British Champion. Having dominated with his usual brand of metronomic consistency and blistering pace, Ludlow driver Scott Moran claimed his fifth title, joining Martyn Griffiths and David Grace as a five times winner and just one win away from the record set by the late, great Tony Marsh.

BHC Season Review Part 11 – Trevor Willis

As we approach the end of our 2013 British Hillclimb Championship Season Review we move on to look at the real heavy-hitters in the series, and the two drivers who have dominated top-line hillclimbing since 2010.

Trevor proudly wore the ‘Number 1′ on his OMS-RPE 28  for 2013.

 

Runner-up in this years Championship was the man who really hit some mighty highs in 2012. He had a new car to shake down at Prescott back in April, but as always Trevor Willis was up to speed incredibly rapidly and was soon fully in the groove with his Powertec/RPE V8 powered OMS.

Willis on Screen!

Whilst scanning about on youtube recently, we stumbled across quite an interesting home shot video which we think raises a few questions.

New British Hillclimb Champion Trevor Willis is used to getting huge adrenaline rushes from his RPE V8 powered OMS 25, but the single-seater certainly won’t have prepared him for the performance of this vehicle….
