Records Tumble at Prescott

Last weekend saw a stunning event at Prescott with lots of action on the track, a host of records reset and unfortunately quite a lot of carbon crunched.

Prescott was in a fine condition for it’s final Championship event of 2014.

 

Two very competitive British Hillclimb Championship Top 12 Run Offs saw the hill record blitzed each time and two different winners in two very different racing cars.

Who Needs Goodwood!?

With Glastonbury Festival and the Goodwood Festival of Speed happening elsewhere in the South of England, the picturesque Prescott Hillclimb in Gloucestershire held its Mid-Summer Speed Fest over the weekend.

The Gloucestershire venue was in fine fettle.

 

The event featured a stand-alone round of the hugely popular Midland Hillclimb Championship, alongside the HSA, National Speed and Paul Matty Classic Sports Championships. The event also hosted the second round of the famous Prescott Gold Cup.

Hillclimb Videos

Whilst we all miss the days when Hayfisher and Brayspeed produced TV-quality films, covering most of the British Hillclimb Championship and other select events, we do have the wonder of youtube with which view hillclimb footage from the previous weekends events.

Prescott – 2014 Events

Next up sees us look at another of the busier hills in the country, the stunning Prescott Hillclimb in Gloucestershire.

In recent years Prescott Hillclimb has led the way for hills to gain additional revenue by hosting corporate events, and the increase in income to the venue has benefitted spectators and competitors alike with some of the best facilities of any hillclimb.

This weeks installment of the speedhillclimb.com Film Night is a pretty special one. Throughout this series, which has run over the past couple of years, we have featured films from professional motorsport covering amazing films or topical subjects.

For the latest chapter however, we will have a look at our very own sport of Speed Hillclimbing. In recent years we have celebrated the promotion and entertainment that our sport has been granted by TV shows producing sections of their programs looking at our dramatic discipline of motorsport. Whist becoming ever more frequent, this is not a new trend so let’s have a look back at some of the hillclimbing films produced over the past couple of decades.
