Double Dry Doune!?

The penultimate round of the British Hillclimb Championship season took place at Doune in Scotland at the weekend and, after the record-breaking bonanza at the hill in June, miraculously this latest event was warm and sunny yet again!

As well as seeing a number of class records set over the weekend, we also crowned our 2014 British Champion. Having dominated with his usual brand of metronomic consistency and blistering pace, Ludlow driver Scott Moran claimed his fifth title, joining Martyn Griffiths and David Grace as a five times winner and just one win away from the record set by the late, great Tony Marsh.

Cross’ Curborough Cruise!

A couple of weeks ago one of the younger members of the hillclimb family had a baptism of fire as he took a single-seater for a spin for the first time.

Young Ben Cross might still be at school, but thanks to a very enthusiastic Father and some very generous family friends, he got to enjoy a very cool day at Curborough Sprint Track during a midweek test session.

Despite currently running an intermediate-spec 2.3 litre Duratec powerplant in the car, rather than the full-house 2.5 litre lump which they had planned to be running this year, the car has demonstrated phenomenal grunt since it first appeared at Doune back in June.
