Thomas on Top in Teme Valley!

Last weekend saw the final events of the season at Shelsley Walsh as The World Famous venue hosted a pair of single-day club events.

A healthy entry on each day was the result of several Championships running at the venue, as well as many club drivers taking the opportunity to compete on the hallowed slopes of the oldest mainland hillclimb venue.

Wonderful Werrington

This weekend we decided to give the Midland Hillclimb Championship event at Shelsley Walsh a miss and take on the long journey down to the M5 to Launceston in Cornwall for some proper club hillclimbing at Werrington Park hillclimb.

Werrington House overlooks the famous Cattle Grid.


Set in the Tamar Valley, just over the county border, this very fast parkland hill is a real challenge for competitors with some very narrow and very high-speed sections to the course. It may not be World Famous, but Werrington Park has a hardy bunch of supporters!

Autosport Show… Plans for Summers!

There was lots of talk at the show about the ever growing fleet of cars now owned by the Summers family and who is likely to drive them.

As well as the familiar ex. Tomlin/Jenkins OMS CF97, Alex’s DJ Firehawk and the beautiful F5000 Lola seen at Shelsley in 2012, the family have also acquired the giant-killing Force-Suzuki PT from Gary Thomas over the winter.

2012 SHC Awards – Class of the Year

To celebrate the end of’s second full year of existence, we have decided to review the year and recognise some of the stunning performances we have seen on the hills over the 2012 season.

The prizes are purely for bragging rights in the 2013 paddock, but nevertheless over the last few days of the year we will be announcing the winners of the 2013 Awards!The 2nd of our awards will be presented for the ‘Class of the Year’:

Midland Speed Changes

We have recently received an email from 2012 BHC contender and Midland Speed Championship committee member Gary Thomas, informing us of some of the changes taking place in the MSC for 2013.

This ever popular series, which combines hills and sprints across the whole of the UK, suffered from a few technical problems during the 2012 season, but Gary reports that the series is well on its way to a return to full strength next year.

The National level 1100cc Racing Car Class should receive a welcome increase in entries for the 2013 season.
