There have been many events on the hills, and a lot of gossip as well, since we were last able to spend time typing and the Bank Holiday weekend has given us a small opportunity to play catch up. Harewood Hill – 2014 Events

From the BARCs hillclimb venue in the South, we move on to their hillclimb venue in the North.

Harewood, near Harrogate in Yorkshire is another of the more ‘permanent’ venues in British Hillclimbing, which hosts the BHC, many clubbys and a Hillclimb Drivers School.

Family Fortunes

After the meteorological challenges of the Saturday of Barbon Manor, it was a pleasure for all involved to roll into the level, partially tarmaced paddock of Harewood Hillclimb near Harrogate, for Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2013 British Hillclimb Championship.

Scott Moran took victory in the 2nd Run Off and now leads the title race


Harewood had already hosted a very busy club event on the Saturday, but there were significantly fewer entries for the National round on the Sunday. All of the big hitters were present though, with the exception of the still absent Jos Goodyear.

Spedding Sets The Pace

The opening competitive event of 2013 in the North of England was put on by BARC (Yorkshire Centre) at their traditional home, Harewood Hillclimb near Harrogate.

Despite a few early season withdrawals due to cars not quite being ready, including the OMS of Steve & Lynne Owen (see separate story), a healthy entry took to the hill for this round of the Harewood Hillclimb Championship.
