Thomas on Top in Teme Valley!

Last weekend saw the final events of the season at Shelsley Walsh as The World Famous venue hosted a pair of single-day club events.

A healthy entry on each day was the result of several Championships running at the venue, as well as many club drivers taking the opportunity to compete on the hallowed slopes of the oldest mainland hillclimb venue.

Menzies Machine Mended

One of the best aspects of the recent British Hillclimb Championship round at Harewood Hillclimb in Yorkshire was the return to competition of one of the top contenders in our sport.

The Red Rocket returned to competition at Harewood Hillclimb a couple of weeks ago.

 

Scottish charger Wallace Menzies, who was third overall in the Championship in 2013, has been absent from the hills since his hugely publicised tumble at Shelsley Walsh back in early June.

Spectacular Shelsley

The British Hillclimb Championship circus assembled in rural Worcester at the weekend for one of the blue riband events on the calendar at Shelsley Walsh hillclimb.

Tommy New was a popular winner of the 2nd Run Off.

 

As always these days, The World Famous venue was in fantastic condition, and the usual large crowd witnessed a day of fantastic competition as well as a few unscheduled incidents and accidents.

Shelsley Shunts

As I am sure everyone who is reading this is aware by now, as well as some cracking class action and a couple of very exciting Top 12 Run Offs, the big news at Shelsley Walsh over the weekend involved a couple of very big shunts involving two of the single-seater runners.

The two incidents, which occurred during the qualifying runs for the Run Offs, involved DJ Racecars drivers Wallace Menzies and Ash Mason.

This weeks installment of the speedhillclimb.com Film Night is a pretty special one. Throughout this series, which has run over the past couple of years, we have featured films from professional motorsport covering amazing films or topical subjects.

For the latest chapter however, we will have a look at our very own sport of Speed Hillclimbing. In recent years we have celebrated the promotion and entertainment that our sport has been granted by TV shows producing sections of their programs looking at our dramatic discipline of motorsport.
