Shelsley Shunts

As I am sure everyone who is reading this is aware by now, as well as some cracking class action and a couple of very exciting Top 12 Run Offs, the big news at Shelsley Walsh over the weekend involved a couple of very big shunts involving two of the single-seater runners.

Damp Doune Details

Competition day at Doune saw more incidents and a lot more inclement weather. Despite clear skies until the end of qualifying, the rain returned with avengence for the 1st Top 12 Runoff, conditons were described as horrendous.

GWR Raptor driver Lee Adams, on home ground North of the border, splashed his way to his 2nd Run Off win of the season in the morning, before making that 3 wins in the 2nd Run Off of the day.

Championship leader Scott Moran again kept his championship points tally ticking over with a pair of 2nd places, whilst Wallace Menzies powered his DJ Firestorm to 3rd and a 4th.

Recovering from his shunt in Saturday practice, Trevor Willis rewarded his team of OMS helpers with a podium finish first time up. Unfortunately though, he pushed a touch too hard in the 2nd battle for points and damaged the car again. Having damaged 4 wheels this weekend, it is looking unlikely that Willis will be able to get the car running in time for Prescott’s Midland round next weekend.
