Scott Gets Soaked!

The last British Hillclimb Championship event of each season always has a distinct ‘end of term’ feel to it as the drivers, marshals, go-fors and organisers all begin to unwind before the long cold winter.

Skools Out For Winter!

On Saturday the Guernsey Kart and Motor Club hosted the final hillclimb event of the year at Les Val des Terres.

Run Off Milestone for Gould

Our Correspondent has sussed out that, by claiming victory in the final British Hillclimb Championship Top 12 Run Off at The World Famous Shelsley Walsh on Sunday, Scott Moran claimed the 400th Run Off victory for the Gould marque.

The Newbury-based constructor, which first appeared in British Hillclimbing with a stunning aluminium honeycomb chassis and Cosworth BDA power back in 1984, scored several Run Off wins with the 84G chassis in the late 80s and early 90s but they really started to rack up the victories in the late 1990s with the Ralt F3 based GR37 chassis.

Darren’s Difficult Decision

In this weeks edition of Motorsport News, Our Correspondent reports that Channel Islands star of the season so far Darren Warwick may be on the verge of giving up the sport.

Darren Warwick has dominated results in the Channel Islands since 2010.

 

Darren, who competes with his ex. Paul Haimes Leaders, Championship winning Dallara-Vauxhall F301, has dominated events on his home hill of Guernsey this year carving chunks off of his PB every time the weather has allowed. Also, he has scored successes on the rival island of Jersey and on his visits to Continental Europe.

Beautiful Bouley

Where do the British Hillclimb Championship contenders go on their holidays? Well, they go to the Channel Islands in July usually!

Today is one of the most eagerly anticipated British Championship events of the year, on the Crown Dependency of Jersey. Bouley Bay hillclimb is one of the oldest in the title race having been a scoring round in the first ever British Hillclimb Championship back in 1948.
