Wonderful Werrington

This weekend we decided to give the Midland Hillclimb Championship event at Shelsley Walsh a miss and take on the long journey down to the M5 to Launceston in Cornwall for some proper club hillclimbing at Werrington Park hillclimb.

Werrington House overlooks the famous Cattle Grid.


Set in the Tamar Valley, just over the county border, this very fast parkland hill is a real challenge for competitors with some very narrow and very high-speed sections to the course. It may not be World Famous, but Werrington Park has a hardy bunch of supporters!

The New Season is Nearly Here….

Record Tumbles at Werrington

Plymouth Motor Club hosted it’s annual two-day Speed Hillclimb at the stunning Werrington Park venue, near Launceston, in Cornwall last weekend.

Having partially resurfaced the hill in time for the 2012 events, the organising club completed the remainder of the hill over last winter so records were expected to tumble.

The Association of South West Motor Clubs Hillclimb Championship is one of the most popular in the country with over 90 points-scorers this year in the series which runs at venues from Tregrehan, nr. St Austell to Gurston Down, nr. Salisbury.

South West Finale

With the Scottish Hillclimb Championship having been decided in Fin Whyte’s favour at Doune last weekend, let’s have a look at another regional Championship, this time at the exact opposite end of the country to Scotland.

Spectacular Shelsley Scheduled

This weekend is The Big One at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire.

A huge entry of cars are scheduled to appear at The World Famous venue as the British, Leaders, Midland and Paul Matty Championships are joined by a mouth-watering selection of historic cars. The Lotus marque is the theme for this weekend and there will be a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Lotus Elan during the weekend.
