Perfect Prescott

Prescott Hillclimb in Gloucestershire was the host for the final headline hillclimb event on the mainland for 2013 with a pair of one day events on 5th & 6th of October.

The competitive events ran alongside the Prescott American Autumn Classic event at the Cotswolds hill, and the contrasting sight of racing cars and fairground rides in the paddock was a bit of a shock to the system at first, but made for a fantastic family day out.

Bike-Engines Clean Up

The pair of clubby events at Loton Park at the weekend produced some results which were somewhat against the formbook.

Most observers would have expected the V6 engined Pilbeam MP88s of Mike Tregoning and George Bleasdale or the TKD V8 OMS of Tim Elmer to lead the way, however things didn’t go according to plan for the big-hitters…

The Dogs!

Team Dog returned to hillclimb action this weekend at Prescott’s Midland round after a layoff of over 2 years.

Ian and Simon Fidoe sold their highly successful Pilbeam MP43 sportsracer to Terry Clifford after Simon had claimed the Hillclimb Leaders Championship in 2008. The plan was to step upto the single-seater classes with an OMS CF08 chassis powered by one of Terry Davis’ TKD YV8 engines.

However after a few delays to the engine program, and with Ian & Simon desperate to get stuck into driving again, the pairing have purchased a small-engined single-seater as a stop-gap.

This weekend they made the first appearance for their Bill Chaplin built Empire-Suzuki. This car, which is similar in spec to the car used by Dave & Pam Gardner, is beautifully put together and the Fidoes seemed to enjoy playing with their new toy.
