Paul Haimes

Smooth, committed, dedicated. Paul is the ultimate thinking driver, who combines first class preparation with attention to detail and breath-taking speed. The past 3 seasons have seen Paul virtually dominate the 2-litre class at national level with his Dallara-Vauxhall and have resulted in the Leaders Championship, runoff podium positions and a top ten overall result. With the Dallara sold in the middle of 2010, the big question is what he will do next. There are lots of rumours, and Paul is saying nothing, but we can’t see him staying away for long.

2011 Plans

As yet there is still no news of Paul’s plans for 2011 and, whilst there is a lot of gossip amongst his competitors, Paul is saying nothing. With just a few weeks left until the start of the BHC, time for pre-season testing is running out. As soon as we know what Paul’s plans are, then so will you…

2011 Season/2012 Plans

Despite only participating in one hillclimb during 2011, Haimes was still one of the most talked about drivers in the paddock and was certainly one of the most ‘searched for’ on the internet. The announcement that Paul has ordered a Gould GR59 chassis, complete with turbocharged Hayabusa motor, should see him return to the very top of the sport. Expect a slow start to the year, but when the package is fully developed Haimes will have the talent and the car to take on the best.

It must also be noted that, having shared with Martin Groves and David Grace as well as Haimes in years past, Paul is the only driver to have regularly shared a car with Allan Warburton who has NOT won the BHC outright! (Thanks for reminding us Warby!)
