Richard Spedding

The man with the maddest barnet in the paddock!

Having started his competition career in as diverse equipment as karts and a V12 E-type, in 2008 Spedding made the huge step up to a 1600cc Force PC. Starting quietly at his home hill of Harewood, Spedding built up his speed & commitment with the car before heading further afield.

2011 saw a virtually full BHC season for the combination and consistant finishes, plus his usual blinding pace at Harewood, saw him nail a coveted ‘number’ 2012. Needs to pick up his pace away from Harewood, but Spedding has the potential to really make Lee Adams work in the 1600s in 2012.

2012 Season

Still the wildest ‘do’ on the hills!

Despite a few mechanical breakages on the hardworked Force PC chassis, Spedding did exactly what is required in a 1600cc car to take a number. He picked up the odd point here and there, and claimed a few big scalps whenever conditions were in his favour.

His car was completely eclipsed in class by the amazing GWR Raptor, but Richard’s head never dropped and he kept on banging in PBs, even if most observers didn’t notice due to the Raptor stealing the headlines.

Sharing the car with Welsh Wizard Eynon Price at the end of the season seemed to bring the best out in Richard, could we see this partnership becoming more permanent in 2013?
