Wazza’s Winning Ways!

While we don’t normally cover continental hillclimbs here at speedhillclimb.com, we have been tipped off that a number of Speed Hillclimb competitors made the journey across the English Channel to Saint Goueno Hillclimb in Britanny last weekend.

Darren Warwick Dallara F301

Wazza was on great form in France

One of the club level stars of the year so far Darren Warwick took yet another FTD in the Masters section for UK and Irish-based competitors.

In doing this Darren, who was driving his ex. Paul Haimes Dallara F301, also claimed the scalp of one of the fastest man on the Irish Hills Simon McKinley. McKinley, who has become a youtube star thanks to his wild, sideways style initially with his Warrior-engined Mark 2 Escort and later with the ex. John Payne, Ralt RT4-based Lant single-seater, used the Lant to good effect in Britanny.

Other mainland competitors who made the crossing included Simon Durling, the Paul Matty Sportscar Lotus Championship runners and our old mate David Hunter.

Thanks to The Voice for the heads-up on the results!
